Average performance at Talk Tools oromotor tests, some comp head movement , need sensory OT integration test. What does this all mean. No idea really. Some weird American treatment for expressive dyspraxia where they strap kids down in chairs so they cant move their heads and make them suck thickened fluids up straws and slurp yogurt and blow a trumpet. I asked questions and was polite coming away with a lot of paperwork to complete to see if, with appropriate head restraining, we can count the hoots their trumpets make and ounces sucked up of watered down yogurt. Tick charts, star charts, monitoring. I think its a lot of rubbish that I dont have the time or inclination to put my boys through. Husband wishes to complete task. Note that now responsibility with him no hooting/ sucking or monitoring has occurred. Nor has a further appointment been made.
On a plus note went on a teaching day that had marshmallows and chocolate covered raisons at coffee and jelly beans on the tables. Will be excited about second day and pushing for an additional third.
